Lipton Yellow Label Tea

  • Task: Clearing the publishing rights for Mission: Impossible and the Pink Panther themes, the persona rights for the composers, and studio rights for title use

Lipton and its agency DDB Paris created a multimedia campaign — “A Sip of Inspiration” — to promote Lipton Yellow Label Tea. The series of commercials tell fictional stories about composers who were able to perfect their compositions after drinking Lipton Tea — Lalo Schifrin for the Mission: Impossible theme song, and Henry Mancini for the Pink Panther. GreenLight researched potential assets and clearances and, after extensive consumer testing, GreenLight was able to quickly clear the rights for the compositions and personalities that tested best in the targeted territories.
