How do you say "completely and utterly brilliant" in French? euro rscg Euro RSCG C&O Natixis Asset Management Rights to images of famous architectural landmarks for an advertising campaign. One presumes, when having something tailor-made, that it will take a bit of time. Unless, of course, you are an advertising agency with a big time client who's got no time to waste. Natixis Asset Management, a European investment management firm, and their agency decided that they wanted to draw a parallel between their bespoke financial products and high-end design and architecture. They had big ambitions, high expectations, a long list of images they wanted to use and, as always, very tight deadlines. GreenLight moved in at breakneck speed, identified the rights holders (no simple task) and cleared the way for use of images of famous structures such as I.M. Pei's glass pyramid at the Louvre in Paris, Frank Gehry's :Dancing" building in Prague and many others too numerous to count and too exhausting to even think about. We all needed a nap after this one. ddb DDB Nike Rights to inspirational sports clips and images. When Nike and their advertising agency, DDB France, decided to incorporate inspiring moments from sporting events around the world into their TV, internet and PR campaigns, they figured that it wouldn’t be too hard to, well, just do it. Not so fast. The issues of research and licensing surfaced and GreenLight was called in to get the project out of the blocks. Negotiations ensued with Premier League, Wimbledon, the Augusta Masters golf tournament and others to choose the right clips and guarantee there were no licensing false starts. The resulting advertising was historically significant, inspirational and thoroughly cleared for take-off. goodby Goodby, Silverstein and Partners Comcast Host, guest star and contestant image rights, guild negotiations. Old game shows never die, they just wait to be exhumed. And then the fun begins. When Comcast and their ad agency, Goodby, Silverstein and Partners decided that the $20,000 Pyramid, an American game show classic, was just the ticket to set themselves apart in a competitive marketplace, it opened a Pandora's box of rights issues. Rights to the show, contacting the host, guest star and contestant for approval, guild negotiations ... the list of obstacles went on and on. Let's not forget the clip Comcast wanted to use last aired over 30 years ago. GreenLight was up to the challenge, though, and in record time cleared up every last usage issue. Jackpot! ballantines Ballantine's Scotch Whiskey European print and internet campaign Rights to images of icons Steve McQueen and John McEnroe. Steve McQueen, John McEnroe and Ballantine's Scotch Whiskey. What better blend to get Europe's beverage of choice into the glasses of the thirsty masses in Spain and Portugal? GreenLight deftly secured the rights to the images of these whiskey loving icons and their symbols and smoothed the way for an evocative print and internet campaign. matsushita Matsushita Electronics Matsushita Electronics Rights usage for images of Ukrainian gymnast Anna Bessonova. It may only have been a single famous face, but it needed to go everywhere. Japanese electronic giant Matsushita, a company that makes products including brand names Panasonic and Technics, decided Ukranian gymnast Anna Bessanova was just the celebrity to put the spring into their new advertising campaign. The catch was they needed to secure the rights to her image for use on television and satellite commercials, at cinemas, on outdoor event screens, in print advertising and just about any other media outlet imaginable. GreenLight into action and before you say "double back handspring with a twist," had cleared the rights to her image for up to a year. That’s a gold medal performance! dresdner Dresdner Bank Dresdner Bank Rights for images of Jimi Hendrix, Albert Einstein, and more. Why do deceased icons have to be so difficult? Dresdner Kleinwort, a European bank of distinction, wanted to brush the dust off and freshen up their image a bit. Their advertising partner thought of pairing disparate icons – famous for completely different reasons – to show how their bank can help a wide array of personalities to achieve their financial goals. But who could clear Marilyn Monroe and Jimi Hendrix? GreenLight broke out the Ouija board, contacted the gatekeepers of these estates, and cleared not only Monroe and Hendrix but Albert Einstein and Maria Callas as well just for kicks. The print ads – which paired the two duos in the back of a cab and on a couch – were stunning, provocative and made the point quite nicely, thank you very much, that Dresdner Kleinwort was anything but a stuffy bank. holcim Holcim Rights to the song "Que Sera, Sera" Acquired publishing rights to use song as background music for a commercial. What do a cement company and obtaining the rights to use a classic tune have in common? It's all about being hard. When Holcim, one of the world's leading suppliers of cement and aggregates decided that the classic "Que Sera, Sera" was just the background music to set the tune for a commercial to run on Indonesian television, they turned to GreenLight to lay the foundation. In record time, our team of experts contacted the rights holders to the Raymond B. Evans song and cleared the song for use. Soon, that old time favorite was on air in homes from Jakarta to Subang.
